Soroti District Local Government conducted a successful joint monitoring of Agriculture Cluster Development Projects on Wednesday 28th July, 2021. The team headed by the district political head the LC-5 Chairperson Simon Peter Edoru in the company of DISO Robert Tukundane who was representing the RDC, Hon Florence Akiteng the Sec. Production, CAO Luke L.L Lokuda, Deputy CAO Jane Akiror, DAO Moses Okello, DPO Michael Enyaku, District Engineer Denis Ocung, and District Commercial Officer Joy Apolot and District Communication Officer Abraham Ekwaru. The four monitored and successful groups that already received funding from Ministry includes; Teso Cooperative Union ltd UGX 136,200,000, Awoja Rural Producer Organization got already UGX 90,444,470. Community Link for Development UGX 90.449,253. And Amoru- Amoroto Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd UGX 91,200,000.

Agriculture Cluster Development Project Development Objective and specifically to improve post-harvest handling and value addition
The project provides matching grants of USD 75,000 to support 67pecent investment as required by Farmer Organization (FOs) in acquiring the post-harvest, storage, value addition infrastructure and equipment.
To the effect farm organization from the project implementing districts submitted business plans to the ministry which were evaluated and successful ones awarded the matching grants beneficiaries for construction and storage facilities, extension of the power and environmental and social guards.
