The Office of the District LC-5 Chairperson on Monday last week held an inception meeting with Welthunger (WHH) an NGO.

WHH operates already within the Two districts of Katakwi and Amuria, implementing a Water, sanitation and Hygiene WASH project with funding from charity. The purpose of the inception meeting was to strike a partnership between the Soroti DLG and Welthunger.

The WHH team headed by Harriet Agemo, the project manager said the corporation is to support the rehabilitation of water sources and drilling of new boreholes. Welthunger is planning to drill 7 boreholes, rehabilitate at least 13 and construct one 5stand pit latrine and rehabilitate 3.

Simon Peter Edoru Ekuu welcomed the Welthunger partnership with Soroti DLG as this will help in addressing the scarcity of water. This is being coordinated by the office of District of Water Department.
