Soroti District Local Government mourns the fallen Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah.

Oulanyah, 56, who represented Omoro County, died in a hospital in Seattle, the United Statesof America on March 20, 2022.

He was indisposed since February 4th after being referred overseas by the Mulago Cancer Institute for specialized treatment.

Soroti District Chairperson Simon Peter Edoru Ekuu says as “Soroti district, we eulogize the former Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah for being patriotic and a strong pillar of the NRM party and for this Country, Uganda,” The body of Oulanyah, is apparently laying in Parliament of Uganda for Legislators to pay the last tributes.
